Dementia & Carer Support Services
This service is for people who have dementia or a related disorder.
This service provides respite for relatives from their caring role and a social outing for the person living with dementia.
People attending the Golden Club can participate in a range of person-centred activities according to their choice and ability.
Activities can include: Reminiscing, gentle exercise, brain teasers, arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, music—song and dance, games, ipads, theme days, along with social outings to places of interest or to special events.
Morning tea and lunch is provided.
Cost for the day, all inclusive is $12.
Transport to and from the Golden Club is provided, if required, within the town limits.
Service hours: The Golden Club runs each Monday and Friday from 10am to 2pm.
If you are over 65 years (or 50 if Aboriginal) and living with a degree of memory loss, why not join our social Coffee Club? Our bus will collect you from home and transport you to one of the local cafés where you can join others for morning tea. We’ll then drop you home at the conclusion of morning tea.
Outings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
Cost – Members purchase their own morning tea, transport is provided.
Carer Support Group
The Carer Support Group provides information and support to care givers of people living with dementia, this includes people in care. The Carers’ group is comprised of past and present Carers who share mutual support and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting the person living with dementia.
A guest speaker attends each meeting to provide relevant information on Dementia.
When: 1st Monday of each Month

Train Your Brain Program
Would you like to be able to think faster, have sharper focus and a better memory?
Get your brain fit with our Train Your Brain program!
You would never expect your body to be in perfect shape if you didn’t exercise it, and the same goes for your brain!
This program aims to encourage people over 65 (50 if Aboriginal) to keep their minds active! The program is held Thursdays between 9:30am and 10:30am over 10 weeks in our Activities room in Oliver Street, Inverell. Please register your expression of interest with either Sandy or Libby
Ladies Craft Group
Looking for an opportunity to get creative and socialise with others? Why not join the Ladies Craft Group? This program offers a fun day out for ladies looking to spend some time undertaking creative activities.
Morning Tea and lunch is provided.
Service hours: This social group meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month between 10am and 2pm at our Activities Room in Oliver Street, Inverell.
Cost for the day, all-inclusive is $12.
Individual Social Support
This service is offered to eligible participants over 65 years (50 if Aboriginal) to assist with shopping, medical appointments or social outings.
